May 5 –
Happy Cinco De Mayo from VENICE! Was up early this morning for one of my duties (called sports out – we put out the golf clubs, paddle and table tennis shuffle board and the pins for miniature golf). I would have been up anyway because we were sailing into Venice. What a sight!!! It was a bit brisk, overcast and breezy, but what a sight. For my Nashville friends imagine a ship about 3-4 times of the General Jackson sailing down the Cumberland – AWEOME!
The views were breathtaking as you could see so many of the waterways and the gondolas (mostly parked) used to navigate them. Such a unique city.
We rehearsed the show for tonight (RIVER RHAPSODY) and had a couple of meetings after that, so I was able to get off the ship until about 1:45pm and had to be back for a 4:30pm duty, so I only had time to wander around. So, that’s what I did… wander… Such a beautiful place to wander and I am looking forward to doing more of that tomorrow. HOPEFULLY I will have time to do so.
After the show tonight a few of us are heading to the university district for a night out.
