May 16

May 16

Piraeus Greece.

I was hoping to get into Athens today, but I had to work in the middle of the day, so I slept in, worked and rested.  Of course, worked some more, and some more.  The sail away was very beautiful, but I missed the beginning, so I missed the best picture opportunities.

Today begins a new cruise and the new guests were greeted with some bad news.  We port in Civitavecchia, on Sunday and everything worth seeing will be closed.  We are in Livorno, Italy on Monday.  This port is accessible to Pisa and Florence (ah, memories).  The unfortunate thing is that on Mondays they shut many of the museums – including the museum housing the real statue of David.  AND… we port in Monte Carlo again this cruise, but the Grand Prix will be raced 2 days after we port, so we can’t dock and have to tender in and will be a ways from the city center.  Nothing to major, but some of the passengers have already expressed their displeasure to me.  Sorry L

Voice is coming back, but not all there.  Still worried about tomorrow’s show.
